MEDALLIONS AVAILABLE FOR HEADSTONES:

Family members of veterans who passed away on or after November 1st, 1990 can now request a medallion or other device to be placed on the deceased's headstone or grave marker to signify their status as a veteran. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is in the preliminary stages of designing the medallion and anticipates that it will be available by the spring of 2009. This benefit is available in lieu of a government furnished headstone or marker for veterans in privately marked graves.
