DIC CBO Report-

On Thursday, TREA’s Washington Executive Director, Deirdre Parke Holleman, participated in a long discussion and interview with the analysts of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) concerning the adequacy of the Dependency Indemnification Compensation (DIC) program. The VA administered DIC program compensates survivors of service members who either died on active duty or as a result of a service connected disability. As you well know, TREA has been lobbying to both end the unfair SBP/DIC offset and to improve and increase the DIC payments. The last Congress ordered the CBO to provide them with a report on the program. I will be contacting the CBO on this report again.
